The Killing is a Danish police procedural drama that tells the story of soon to be retired detective Sarah Lund who, on the brink of ending her career early, finds herself drawn into a dark homicide case involving the rape and murder of a 19 year old girl. Putting her plans to move to Sweden with her fiancé on hold Lund finds herself drawn back into the world of crime investigation. Noted for its dark tone, innovative time and episode management and the equal emphasis given to the impact of the murder on the family of the victim as that of the police department the Killing has garnered a number of awards including a BAFTA and an International Emmy and has spawned a US remake and a series of novels. - Actors:
