Honourably discharged from the US navy, with nothing but his kit bag and rifle to his name, 21 year-old Elvis Valderez sets out on a quest to find his father. The trail leads to Corpus Christi, Texas, where Valderez discovers the man he has heard about but never seen. He’s now the highly respected pastor of a thriving Baptist church; a pillar of the community with a beautiful wife, a son and a teenage daughter. Compelled to confront his father, Elvis is stunned when he is brutally rejected as a reminder of a dark past the preacher would rather forget. Slow, not really engaging - The King review by CP Customer
Didn't like this very much. The story was slow and most of the questions brought up by the plot were left unanswered. The main character appears to be totally amoral and it wasn't particularly enjoyable spending 2 hours in his company.

An excellent indie drama. - The King review by CP Customer
I was surprised to see negative reviews about this film, I thought it was a well written, acted and directed movie. Written by Milo Addica the author of 'Monsters Ball' and 'Birth', the film follows the character of Elvis Valderez, a seemingly polite and charming young man who after his discharge from the U.S navy sets out to meet his real father, a now born again Christian pastor. After a brief rejection, Elvis is welcomed into his new family, but it soon becomes apparent that Elvis is a highly dangerous and damaged individual. As you would expect from Milo Addica, the story is well written, the characters have plenty of depth and as the story unfolds it reveals unexpected and unpleasant twists. If you like independent films then this is well worth a rental.

Stick to foreign language! - The King review by CP Customer
Wasn't that good. Starts off well and a good storyline but too long and nowhere near as good as the foreign language stuff he has done!
