- The Last Detective is a British comedy-drama TV series based on the Dangerous Davies novels by author Leslie Thomas. The plot centers on "Dangerous" Davies, who unconventional as he seems, eventually always succeeds in solving the most ridiculous of cases that everyone else skips ahead. The show stars Peter Davison as Davies, Sean Hughes as Mod and Charles De'Ath as DS Pimlott among others.
