The story of the Louvre museum through the eyes of Monet, Degas, Cezanne, Matisse, Chagall, Picasso, Giacometti…The artists who invented modern art started from here, with the certainty that “there is everything in the Louvre; that one can learn and love everything, in the Louvre” (Cézanne). Because it’s not a question of ”a” museum but of “the” Museum. At the same time the Louvre is the symbol of what modern artists often called “destruction”: the past to compare with, tradition to break free from. The story develops from the tales of modern art maestros who go to the Louvre and establish a love/hate relationship with it. The stories of these modern artists are the starting point for a series of narratives and tours inside the Louvre, that allow us to see the museum with new eyes, and from an entirely different perspective compared to the usual documentaries on the museum.
