The Mafia's Greatest Hits...and the FBI files which tell the true stories behind them.
The Mobster Murderer This is a story of missed opportunities, of how New York's law enforcement agencies repeatedly failed to snare the Mafia's most blood thirsty killer - Roy DeMeo. He turned into a savage mass murderer killing as many as 200 people. Killing people gave him such pleasure that he was gradually turned from a small time thug into a fully fledged serial killer obsessed with ritualistic murders. The FBI didn't stop the danger soon enough, as the only thing that this collection of chopped up petty criminals, car thieves and small timers had in common was that they were all chopped into pieces. DeMeo was under FBI investigation when a hit was put out on him by the boss of his own family...
Vito Genovese Vito Genovese was a cold-hearted killer, he was also one of two contenders for the throne of the great Mafia visionary; "Lucky" Luciano. His rival Frank Costello yearned for legitimacy and believed the Mafia would best succeed with an air of respectability, he hobnobbed with judges and politicians while Genovese hung out with drug-dealers and hit men. Genovese watched with envy for twenty years as Costello consolidated his power as "Prime Minister of the Underworld", so when Costello made a blunder Genovese struck unleashing a series of hits. But his violence began to draw the attention of the FBI, which resulted in a huge bugging operation resulting in law and order forces discussing their activities on a nationwide scale and with Genovese behind bars for life.
