Twelve years after the end of the civil war the American South remains a land of violent inequality. When former slaves go on strike against Judge Duke's plantation, all hell breaks loose. Judge Duke has his own son Ezra and the law Amos in his pocket. However one white landowner, Reese Paxton takes the side of the former slaves, starting a chain of events that sees him imprisoned and the people brutalized. With many dead Reese returns to stand against his oppressors and bring the guilty to justice. Based on one of the bloodiest strikes in the history of the US this is the story of one man who stood against injustice, and made the guilty pay.
