- Italian industrialist Enrico Mattei (Gian Maria Volonte) is the subject of this intriguing biopic, which won the Golden Palm at the Cannes Film Festival. Mattei helped shape the course of his country's history by promoting methane gas and bringing Italy into the world market. But he was a controversial figure, and his 1962 plane crash death remains shrouded in mystery. This film explores whether that crash was an accident - or an assassination.
