The New Statesman is a British satirical comedy series about a ultra conservative backbencher within Parliament and the strange things he does as part of the government. The series follows conservative MP Alan B’Stard, an unpleasant and rude man who has unfortunately been given more power than he deserves as he uses his status as MP for his own gain, to deride other people and to get away with things most other people cannot. The series chronicles his exploits and the many people he manipulates along the way.
