Tony (Robert Glenister) works as a taxi driver on the late-night shift in Liverpool. Intrusive thoughts and an uncomfortable encounter with a fare begin to reveal that Tony is haunted by something in his past. Every evening Tony listens to Night Talk, a late-night phone in radio show hosted by the magnetic Lawrence Brightway (Sean Pertwee), a presenter whose views and rapport he hugely admires. As Tony plucks up the courage to ring Lawrence on-air, he starts to interpret Lawrence's "worldview" in dangerous ways. The relationship grows into an unhealthy obsession for Tony, until one day the stars align and Lawrence gets into Tony's cab and he realises that Lawrence isn't the man he purports to be.
