Liverpool's musical heritage is hard to dispute. For a city that gave birth to The Beatles, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Elvis Costello and Atomic Kitten it comes as no surprise to learn that Liverpool holds the world record for the amount of Number One singles to come from any one city just ahead of that other musical powerhouse, Detroit. What better way to celebrate this accolade than to hold a spectacular show at Liverpool's newest and most spectacular venue just as Liverpool is crowned European Capital of Culture. In January 2008, Liverpool's finest artists and bands came together at the brand new 11,000 seat Echo Arena to celebrate the world-beating 56 number one singles. The sold out show, headlined by Gerry Marsden and featuring performances from a wonderful array of bands from The Farm to Atomic Kitten was received to huge acclaim nationally and internationally. Now, for the first time ever, the show has been made available on DVD giving those who weren't lucky enough to get tickets to the show a chance to capture this magnificent evening for themselves.
