- Based on true 16th Century events, 'The Nun And The Devil' depicts greed and corruption in the Convent of Sant' Arcangelo near Naples, where nuns fight for the succession of the dying Mother Superior whose appointment comes with a charter for the exploitation of gold mines in the New World. Backed by rival aristocrats, the nuns' lust for supremacy degenerates into such wanton depravity, ending in murder, that it triggers a Holy Inquisition. Any nun who refuses to cooperate is tortured and sentenced to death.
