This sitcom was one of early television's first mega-hits, with snappy dialogue and brilliant visual gags performed by comic genius Phil Silvers, starring as Master Sergeant Ernest G. Bilko. As head of the motor pool at Fort Baxter in Roseville, Kansas, the fast-talking Bilko is a regular at every poker game in town. His other platoon members are a motley group of lovable goons who would follow their beloved leader anywhere, knowing deep down that Bilko's really a softy with a heart of gold.
