The Phony War Following the invasion and destruction of Poland in weeks, peace descends upon Europe. It is not until two months after the war's outbreak that a British soldier dies and Europe labels this time 'the phoney war', the war that was not happening. The rest of the world however is becoming familiar with the horrors of conflict. Soviet Russia begins a war with Finland and in China the Forces of Japan continue a war of avarice and conflict. The European enemies meet only at Sea. The peace in Europe shatters dramatically as Germany invades Norway and defeats the Forces of Britain and France.
