Synopsis:
Formed in London in 1982 The Pogues created a unique blend of Celtic Folk with a punk attitude and featured a largely Irish cast. Influenced greatly by the Clash, their politically and socially aware music utilised traditional Irish instruments to develop a unique and remarkable sound. Their music combines drunken thrashings of traditional folk songs with impressive original material and exciting musical performances, all of which are vividly captured on this video. The documentary consists of an insight into the band and the manager around the night of the concert. They reveal how they each got involved in The Pogues and how they see themselves and the band at the time of the concert. Guest appearances by Kirsty MacColl, Joe Strummer, Steve Earle, Steve Lillywhite and David Byrne.
