Donald is a deeply troubled young boy. Though he spent his early years on the streets of New York, Donald now resides at the Wiltwyck School for Boys in a small town. In this movie, which blends documentary and narrative filmmaking, the school's psychiatric counselor and Donald himself recount the boy's story, focusing on the tragic events that led to his long-term refusal to speak, his being sent to away to school and his ongoing rehabilitation process.
