Inspired by 'The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel', 'The Indian Dream Hotel' sees a group of eight famous faces of retirement age travel to India to live together for three weeks. Homed together in a guest house in Jaipur, the group learn what it might be like to retire in India and look at the benefits and challenges of living abroad. With a much more affordable cost of living, the contributors look at how a move to India might buy people a better quality of life in retirement and asks whether more of us should be looking further-a-field to retire in countries that are fast emerging as viable alternatives. As part of their journey our contributors run their own household, accustom themselves to day to day living in Jaipur, explore the local sights, take part in traditional activities, learn to cook Indian cuisine, meet local families and immerse themselves in the Indian lifestyle. They also take train journeys to famous Indian cities, such as Agra and Varanasi, and make an emotional visit to the Taj Mahal.
