Our story begins with Abby (Heather Locklear), a beautiful horticulturist desperately trying to solve the mystery behind her mother's death. It's a journey that will leap her to the laboratory of her evil stepfather Dr. Arcane (Louis Jourdan). Monstrously splicing the genes of swamp creatures with those of humans, Dr. Arcane plans to create an anti-aging serum. But there's only one thing that can save Abby from the diabolical clutches of Dr. Arcane, and that's the swamp thing.
