The Runway (2010)

Whimsical drama from director Ian Power, about a South American pilot who crash lands in a small Irish village, and is helped by the locals to fly home. When nine-year-old Paco (Jamie Kierans) sees a plane go down in the woods near his house, he and the rest of the villagers discover Ernesto (Demian Bichir), a Columbian pilot. As young Paco is the only one in the town to know any Spanish, he helpfully 'translates' Ernesto's tale, and soon the villagers are garnering support from any means available to help the stranded pilot fly home...
