Lars (Tom Schilling) is a "Romeo agent" from East Germany in the 1970's. His task is to go West, first to seduce and then to spy on Western women who worked in government or defence institutions...East-Berlin inspector Lars Weber is sent to West Berlin during his espionage training to make contact with the mysterious data analyst Lauren Faber, who works for the British Secret Service. His socialist father Gregor is very proud, but personal motives also play along. Lars' disillusioned uncle Conrad is struggling with his family problems, while Conrad's colleague Axel wants to break his chains with communist East Germany...Lauren is twisted between her feelings for Lars and the responsibility she feels over her son Emil. When Lauren is out, Lars is given a new assignment: Sabine Cutter, a data analyst on the American side.
