Baxley stars in this semi-documentary as a divorced woman who arrives in Los Angeles to make a new start in life. She struggles to find her own identity and to adjust to her new independence, all the while living off her husband's alimony checks. She becomes involved with the married Bernardi, but, unfulfilled, she continues to wander. It takes a serious accident shake Baxley out aimless existence. The Savage Eye, for all its fictional elements, emerges as a remarkably realistic portrayal of one woman's attempt to get her life back on track.
