A collection of archive documentary films presenting a record of work on the fishing fleets in the 1930's. 'Fishing Fleet' (1939) takes a look at the Lossiemouth fishing industry. 'Deep Sea Days' (1930) depicts life aboard a Fleetwood trawler around St Kilda. 'Voyage to Stornoway' is a record from the 1930's of the annual trip to Stornoway by the fishing boats of Musselburgh. 'Toilers of the Deep' (1940) follows the lives of a trawler crew on a nine-day trip. 'Ring Net Herring Fishing' is a film from the 1950's looking at herring fishing in the Western Isles. Finally,'North Sea Herring Fleet' (1943) looks at the fishing community at Yarmouth.
