Based on a true story, 'The Silent Child' tells the tale of a young deaf girl named Libby (Maisie Sly), and the struggles she faces living with her all-hearing family, who have no experience of deaf children and therefore are uneducated about her capabilities. As a result, Libby becomes isolated and alone, until a social worker (played by Rachel Shenton) comes to help the family and improve their communication together.
