- The Simple Life is an American reality television series. Millionaire heiresses and childhood friends, Paris Hilton (of Hilton Hotels) and Nicole Richie (adopted daughter of Lionel Richie), take a break from their pampered princess lifestyle to live with and work for a wealth of hard working, regular, everyday Americans. Gone are the days spent shopping, getting their nails done and being photographed by the paparazzi, instead the girls find themselves sleeping in trailers, working on farms and walking miles in their stiletto shoes – all to get an insight into how privileged they really are.
