Following their hit-making years in the late 60s when songs like "I Got you Babe" and "The Beat Goes On" took them to the top of the charts, husband and wife singing duo Sonny and Cher were transformed into pop culture icons when they fronted their own top-rating variety TV show in the early 1970s. 'The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour' was one of the highest rating shows on CBS for over three years, with the dry quips - the tall, wry-witted Cher most often putting down the dim-witted Sonny - comic sketches, kitschy routines, endless hits, and Cher's raunchy, revealing wardrobe, proving to be a huge hit for the all-conquering pop duo. Featuring a rousing rendition of their biggest single, "I Got you Babe", and a great cabaret performance of "My Way", here is rare footage of the early Sonny and Cher television appearances that started it all.
