Synopsis:
One of the most successful vocal groups of the 1960s, The Supremes were active for over 15 years, performing a whole range of genres, including pop, soul, disco and Broadway show tunes. Over a dozen of their singles went into the top 10 in the USA, with Baby Love reaching #1 in the UK as well as the USA. They also had two UK #1 albums with Greatest Hits (1967) and Diana Ross and The Supremes Join The Temptations (1968). They became the first black female performers of the rock era to embrace a more feminine image, whose on-stage appearance featured high-fashion gowns and wigs, detailed makeup, and graceful choreography.
