Synopsis:
Born in Stratford, England in 1564, William Shakespeare, one of the world's greatest writers, wrote more than 35 plays encompassing comedy, history and tragedies. His plays, each contain vivid characters of all types and from many walks of life, have been a vital part of the theatre in the Western world since they were written some 400 years ago. Enjoy a front row seat in the comfort of your own home with a Shakespeare classic starring an internationally acclaimed cast. Feuding noblemen, embroiled in a world of spirits and sorcery, are forced to come to terms with their past when their children meet by chance and fall in love.
A tempest of wind and rain, raised by the magician Prospero, shipwrecks Alonso, King of Naples, and his shipboard companions including Duke Antonio of Milan. They are marooned on an enchanted and spirit-filled island where each party believes that they are the only survivors. Prospero brings King Alonso and Duke Antonio safely ashores. Unbeknown to the rest of the castaways, Ferdinard, the King's son, arrives separately and meets Miranda, Prospero's daughter. The two fall passionately in love. The missing Ferdinand is assumed drowned, causing Alonso to repent his past deeds, believing Ferdinand's death was punishment for his own wrong-doing. The reformation of the king sees Prospero reveal his true identity and the rejoicing families celebrate the marriage of Ferdinand and Miranda.
