- Based on a true story, set in the late 19th century, Lord Tichborne, the ninth richest man in England, disappears after a South American shipwreck. Years later his valet, Bogle, is sent to investigate rumours that Tichborne survived. Bogle suspects fraud, but embarks upon a journey with the claimant to restore his fortune.
