The legendary sinuous mountain roads of Corsica are home to one of rallying's fastest and most demanding events, the Tour de Corse. Delivering triumph and tragedy in equal measure, the rally has surprised, delighted and devastated for decades. From 1984 to 1991, the Tour de Corse was at the heart of major upheaval for the World Rally Championship, and this action-packed compilation features almost four hours of archive footage tracing the complete story of every Corsican rally from that era, and the dramatic changes the event brought to the sport. From the era of the fire-breathing Group B monsters we are treated to the glorious sights and sounds of the iconic Lancia 037 and Delta S4, Audi Quattro, Metro 6R4, Peugeot 205 T16 and more being pushed to the limit on the long, fast tarmac stages. After the Group B machines were ruled 'too fast to race', the story continues with Group A, and the action was just as thrilling as the Lancia Delta HF Integrale, Toyota Celica GT4 and Ford Sierra Cosworth led the way. Staggering stage-side camera angles, jaw-dropping aerial footage, interviews with the stars and the chance to ride in-car alongside the legends are all featured as we tell the comprehensive story of eight history-making years of the Tour de Corse. Didier Auriol's amazing three wins a row, the unprecedented victory of a privately entered BMW M3, Ford's first factory WRC win for almost a decade, tooth-and-nail contests settled by just seconds - this feature is brimming with edge-of-the-seat drama. The tragedies which marked this period are also remembered, not least the terrible loss in 1986 of Henri Toivonen and co-driver Sergio Cresto in their S4.
