'60's B-Movie romp based very loosely on the tale of Bodicea, queen of the native Britons. In the year 60 AD, Queen Salina (Carita), ruler in the absence of her late father King Priam (Wilfred Lawson), enters into a power-sharing agreement with Justinian (Don Murray), a fair and just Roman ruler. This displeases the hardliner factions in both the Druid and Roman camps. Worse is yet to come as the fair and tender Salina and the cultured, rugged Justinian begin to share each other's straw cots - incensing all concerned and leading to the prospect of a marriage that, whilst offering lasting peace, in the meantime threatens to tear the country apart. Plotting, conniving and treachery naturally ensue.
