A fascinating and revealing look inside the 1992 presidential race. This film explores the beating heart of a presidential campaign by examining the day-to-day operations of Bill Clinton's election staff.The film focuses on the legendary James Carville, the demonstrative, charismatic campaign manager and George Stephanopoulous the mild mannered, photogenic but highly effective, press secretary. The filmmakers follow these two contrasting personalities from the January New Hampshire primary to Clinton's eventual victory, as they attempt to devise and then deliver an overall strategic plan while dealing with unforeseen problems and fluctuating fortune, not least a barrage of negative press, as their candidate faces accusations of adultery and draft-dodging. The film is a brilliant insight into the workings of a political machine operating at full throttle.
