Two teams of pioneering shipbuilders from Denmark and Korea, have joined forces to build a record-breaking ship: the Triple-E. The World's Biggest Ship charts the epic battle to build this super ship through the eyes of the team and the use of stunning CGI animations. Each stage of the process - from constructing the ship, to assembling its components using heavy machinery, to adapting quays in the ports - is unprecedented in scale and ingenuity. Once complete, the Triple-E will boast the title of the "world's biggest ship". Forty percent larger than existing cargo ships, this mega invention will be longer than four football pitches, heavier than fifty five nuclear submarines, and will be able to carry more than 18,000 containers. Transporting everything from cars to food and trainers between the world's busiest port in Rotterdam, this wonder of the ocean changes the face of global shipping forever. However, the task won't be easy and time is limited. They have just nineteen months to take the ship's revolutionary design from the drawing board into the open ocean. A race against time and tides and mind-boggling engineering challenges will test the design and construction team to the limit - the transporting of materials being a main concern. The Triple-E is being built in one of the world's biggest shipyards in South Korea. The challenge arises when engineers must find a way to move the colossal components by road and sea from across the world to Asia. Innovative thinking and strategy will be required - skills that these engineers are certainly equipped with. Join the crew and sail along as history is made.
