From the writer of 'From Here To Eternity' comes 'The Thin Red Line', the story of two American soldiers in the battle of Guadalcanal. Jack Warden is the battle hardened veteran Sergeant Welsh and Keir Dullea a reluctant draftee, Private Doll. Private Doll will do anything to survive and soon incurs the anger of Sergeant Welsh by disobeying orders in an attempt to secure his own safety. Welsh carries out his duty with calculated precision and commits acts of madness in an attempt to scare his soldiers and enlighten them of the absurd nature of war. Through fatigue and the demands of battle Welsh and Doll descend to more desperate methods and we see "The Thin red Line" between sanity and insanity blurred for both protagonists. - Actors:
