- Spinning off from the worldwide success 'Upstairs, Downstairs', 'Thomas and Sarah' tells the further adventures of Thomas the chauffer (John Aiderton) and parlour maid Sarah (Pauline Collins). Thomas and Sarah shows a couple enjoying life, living by their wits and not above pulling a stroke or two to get what they want. In turns humorous, surreal and dramatic, the series boasts sharp, entertaining scripts from many of the names behind Upstairs, Downstairs, including Alfred Shaughnessy, Jeremy Paul and the winning partnership of Terence Brady and Charlotte Bingham. 'Thomas and Sarah' proved to be yet another success when first broadcast in 1979.
