- Three Faces West (1940)
John Wayne stars as John Phillips, a man who inspires his community of dustbowl farmers to strike out for the rich farmland of Oregon in the days preceding World War II. An Austrian refugee, Karl Braun, and his daughter Leni are fleeing the Nazis and looking for a new home. Phillips welcomes the couple to the desolate town of Asheville Forks.
