Thumbelina
An old woman wishes for a beautiful little child. The wish fairy gives her a bag of magic barleycorn and a set of instructions to follow. The plant yields a beautiful flower, and asleep in the petals is the tiniest most beautiful little girl. The woman loves her little child dearly and sets her to sleep in a big tulip petal. And there she stays sad and lonely until she is stolen by a toad looking for a pretty bride for her son.
