Synopsis:
Blanche McIntyre directs this live performance of Shakespeare's violent tragedy recorded at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-Upon-Avon. David Troughton plays the role of Roman army general Titus Andronicus, who sacrifices the eldest son of Tamora Queen of the Goths (Nia Gwynne) to avenge his sons who were killed in war. Tamora plots her own scheme for revenge while Titus refuses to become the new emperor, a decision which has tragic consequences. The cast also includes Patrick Drury, David Burnett and Marcello Walton.
