- Torchlight follows the moral and psychological degeneration of successful architect Jake Gregory (Steve Railsback) through various stages of freebase cocaine addiction, while his well-known artist wife Lillian (Pamela Sue Martin) tries in vain to save both his life and their marriage. Opposing her in this struggle is wealthy coke dealer Sidney (Ian McShane) who keeps Jake entertained with expensive drugs. When Jake's behaviour becomes too erratic, Lillian tries to convince him to enter hospital to dry out. It soon becomes apparent, however, that one can only walk away from an addiction if one is willing to accept change. And Jake is unwilling to give up his cocaine.
