- Torchwood is a British science fiction series and spin off from the hit BBC series Doctor Who. The series follows Captain Jack Harkness, the leader of the Torchwood institute, a secret government organization set up by Queen Victoria to investigate paranormal activity that takes place in England and Wales. Starring John Barrowman as Capt. Jack the series includes many cross overs with Doctor Who and the other BBC spin off series, the Sarah Jane Chronicles.
