Giacomo Puccini's opera in three acts, set in Rome at the beginning of the 19th Century performed at the 2003/4 Teatro Real season. In Rome, 1800, former consul Cesare Angelotti seeks refuge with the painter Cavaradossi in the Attavanti chapel. Cavaradossi's lover Tosca (Daniela Dessì), however, believes that he has another woman, and betrays him and Angelotti to Baron Scarpia, the chief of police.
