This video features the West Coast main line from Cheddington in Buckinghamshire to Carlisle in Cumbria, a distance of 262 miles. The film was shot from 1994 onwards. For the past 40 years the railway has not changed a great deal - electrification was a major change to the infrastructure. Features from the original railway can still be seen, but over the next few years, major alterations are planned. I wonder how many of the original features will still exist when the next round of alterations are completed?
