astounding special effects; brilliantly shot with a good story for such a far-fetched concept. Dads and sons in particular need to get the popcorn out for a rollercoaster ride of breathtaking action. Mums and daughters will love the fun as well.
From the trailers you get the impression that this is a sci-fi action Transformers film, the trouble is that it’s a big budget action comedy, with dialogue and plot aimed at under tens. No one expects Michael Bay to make award winning life changing films, but even by his standards this particularly bad. The plotline is dire with both groups of transformers battling to get a pair of glasses with a map etched in a lens. The special effects are decidedly average and nothing you haven’t seen before in countless other action films or for that matter 30 second Citroen ads. The dialogue is awful with plenty of wisecracking lines that are just plain unfunny. The acting is universally bad, with nearly the whole cast given the instructions to act sweaty faced and slightly dim. There are plenty of big budget stinkers out there but this beats them all, it starts off bad and only gets worse after that.
