When a decayed skeleton is found buried under the patio of a derelict North London house, Walker is incensed at having to deal with such a mundane case. But when two more skeletons are found - one with a distinctive belt around the neck - it seems a serial killer's work has been uncovered. Faced with a media scrum and the chance to resurrect his fading career, the pressure is on for Walker. But with little forensic evidence and no clear indication of when the crimes were committed, Walker knows that his time may soon also be up.
