- Synopsis:
- With its uncanny evocation of childhood and a child's feelings, the film is widely regarded as the best Polish film for some years. 6 year old Stefek is convinced that the man he sees every day boarding a train is his father, who had left home before he was born. His big sister Elka has taught him how to bribe fortune through tricks to make his own luck, and with tricks Stefek thinks he can bring his father back.

delightful - Tricks review by pete b
utterly delightful film. i won't spoil it by telling you how it finishes, but to be honest it's the minutiae of the film rather than the narrative that provides the appeal. stylewise, think eric rohmer meets krysztof kieslowski.
