- The Tudors is a British historical drama based on the tumultuous life of King Henry VIII. Starring Johnathon Rhys Meyer as Henry the Tudors is a risque drama following Henry’s rise and fall over his years on the throne as well as his relationship with his King’s court, most significantly his friendship with the Duke of Suffolk (Man of Steel’s Henry Cavill) and how it affected his reign as King of England. The series looks at Henry’s many wives, such as Anne Boleyn (Natalie Dormer) , Catherine Parr (Joely Richardson) and Anne of Cleves (Joss Stone)
