Documentary about the making of U2's album 'Achtung Baby' - the album, released in 1991, which marked a seminal moment in the career of U2. Having followed the breakthrough success of 'The Joshua Tree' with the difficult and much-criticised 'Rattle and Hum', the band were at a crossroads. The sessions for the album were riddled with conflict, with the band even toying with the idea of breaking up. However, an act of joint inspiration saved the album and convinced the group to continue. Director Davis Guggenheim revisits the story of the album's making with the aid of archive footage and interviews with the band.
