Emerging from the end of the first wave of British punk to a position among the most popular UK punk bands by the early eighties, U.K. Subs chiseled a solid following across the USA and Europe. Germany, in particular, was a strong hold for U.K. Subs based primarily on their live show and to this the Beat Club producers decided to document it. Belated as it was (they had now lost drummer Steve Roberts), it was one of the few documental performances of the classic line-up prior to the 1983 break up. The audience were perhaps more enthusiastic and animated that September in 1982 than the Bremen studio was accustomed to.
