Utawarerumono: Vol.1 (2006)

Episodes 1-5 of the fantasy anime series. A man wakes up from a nightmare staring at an unfamiliar ceiling. A beautiful girl,who introduces herself as Eruruu,is tending to his wounds. He has no memories of his past,and doesn't know who he is,or was. Furthermore,he is wearing a strange mask that he can't take off. After being assured about his whereabouts by Eruruu,he starts a new life and starts to mix with the locals. But this peaceful existence doesn't last - something within the woods seems to be threatening the villagers' everyday lives.
