Slice-of-Indian-life drama, told in flashback, as a son reflects on his life following the death of his father. When his father dies of a stroke, Surya (Surya Sivakumar) recalls how his parents Krishnan (also played by Surya Sivakumar) and Malini (Simran Bagga) first met at college, and their early life raising a family. Later, as a young adult, Surya falls in love with Meghna (Sameera Reddy) after meeting her on a train. After initially turning down his proposal of marriage, Meghna travels to America to study, followed by Surya, but dies in the Oklahoma City bombings.
Heartbroken, Surya returns to India to take up the threads of his life, where, after many false starts and wrong turns, he finally finds the happiness and contentment he's been seeking.
