Synopsis:
The music of Van Der Graaf Generator is complex, intelligent and inspired. It can also be obscure and unapproachable, but it is undisputedly an art form in itself.
The main part of this film was recorded at Charleroi, Palais des Expos, on 27th September 1975, this legendary gig captures the classic Van der Graaf line up of Hugh Benton, Guy Evans, David Jackson and Peter Hammill on their 1975 French tour.
Although the band only recently reformed following Peter Hammill's solo projects, Van der Graaf immediately create their own unique levels of intensity and vision as they take us through the entire Godbluff album.
Complementing this stunning performance, is rare continental studio footage from the early 1970s featuring incendiary performances of Theme One and the whole of A Plague of Lighthouse Keepers.
Also featured are two rare tracks from German television which completes the round of just about all of the surviving Van der Graaf footage.
