As World War Two finally came to a close, military minds were already looking to the future and to the design of weaponry that would hopefully prevent such a waste of life again. Using archive footage, this video looks at the design, development and production of what would become an iconic bomber - the 'Vulcan: Bomber Mark 1'. From early conception to test flights, we examine how this instantly recognisable plane went from the drawing board to service in the RAF.
